The Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) at Copiah-Lincoln Community College is preparing for an exciting spring semester filled with educational opportunities, social gatherings and travel adventures.
The 2027 spring schedule includes monthly luncheons, local outings and trips to destinations throughout the region. Luncheons will be held on Jan. 14 at the Thames Center, Feb. 4, March 4 and April 1 at the Anderson Building, and May 4 at the Thames Center.
Members will also have several opportunities to explore new experiences through the institute’s travel program. On Jan. 12, participants will visit Regina’s Kitchen for a brunch cooking class. On Feb. 27, the group will support the local arts community with a 2 p.m. performance of Southern Fried Funeral at the Brookhaven Little Theatre, followed by a group meal in Brookhaven.
The March 18 outing will take participants to New Orleans for a Creole Queen Paddlewheeler boat tour. The semester will conclude with a multi-day trip to Branson, Missouri, April 26 through May 1. Additional details about the Branson trip will be announced soon.
“We are looking forward to a great spring semester with lots of exciting things planned,” said ILR Coordinator Jennifer Case. “If you are retired or preparing for retirement, we would love to have you join our group.”
