Dennis L. Granberry Leadership Scholarship at Co-Lin
Published: January 28, 2025

The Dennis L. Granberry Leadership Scholarship was recently established with the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation by Dr. Dennis Granberry of Hattiesburg. The scholarship will benefit an incoming freshman with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has demonstrated strong leadership qualities in high school and their community.

Granberry is a 1966 graduate of Co-Lin where he was inducted into the student Hall of Fame and is also a member of the Co-Lin Foundation Hall of Fame. He went directly from Co-Lin to dental school at the University of Tennessee at Memphis at the age of 19 and continued his education in orthodontics at Georgetown University. He was in private practice as an orthodontist in Hattiesburg for 50 years before his recent retirement.

Granberry recognized that ACT scores and GPA averages do not tell the full story of a student’s character, work ethic, and leadership potential because of his own background. He hopes his scholarship will benefit students with a strong work ethic who want to engage in moving themselves and their college forward.

Contributions to the Dennis L. Granberry Leadership Scholarship, or any other scholarship, can be mailed to the Co-Lin Foundation at P.O. Box 649, Wesson, MS 39191, or made online at https://www.colin.edu/alumni-foundation/give-now/.
