What is Workforce Education?

The Workforce Education Division at Copiah-Lincoln Community College serves the employers and workforce of our college district by providing practical, high-quality training that aligns with current industry needs. As part of a statewide effort led by AccelerateMS, Mississippi’s office for workforce development, Co-Lin offers non-credit, short-term training programs that are designed to support both individual career growth and the economic strength of our region.

Whether preparing individuals for new job opportunities or helping businesses upskill their teams, Co-Lin Workforce Education is committed to building a more competitive and capable workforce within the communities we serve.

What We Offer

Our training programs are fast-paced, affordable, and focused on preparing participants for in-demand careers. These non-credit programs allow individuals to enter or re-enter the workforce quickly, while helping local employers meet hiring and training needs.

Specialized Safety & Continuing Education

To further support workforce development in our district, Co-Lin also offers training in health and safety practices essential for many industries. Programs include but are not limited to:

  • OSHA 10/30 Hour General Industry
  • Forklift Safety Certification
  • CPR, First Aid, AED (Healthcare Provider and Layperson)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ed2Go online continuing education and professional development

Workforce Events and Strategic Initiatives

Pathways Job Fair
Held annually, the Pathways Job Fair connects job seekers with hiring employers across our district. This event strengthens the local job market by promoting opportunities and highlighting the strong business climate in our region. ACT WorkKeys® Initiative
Co-Lin supports the ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate® (NCRC®) as part of the state’s Work Ready Community initiative. This program benefits:

  • Our region by promoting a skilled, work-ready talent pool
