Georgia Pacific recently donated to Co-Lin’s Automation and Control Technology program to upgrade their current industrial controls trainer by adding both an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix programmable logic controller and a human-machine interface.

“The Automation and Control Engineering Technology program would like to thank Georgia-Pacific for its generous donation in support of our program. We are grateful to have support from local industries such as Georgia-Pacific to ensure our students are exposed to the latest field technologies,” said Mandy Case, program coordinator of Automation & Control Technology.

Co-Lin offers the two-year Automation & Control program on all three campuses and trains students for employment as an automated manufacturing systems technician in maintenance diagnostics, engineering, or production in an automation environment. Recent graduates of the program are now earning extremely competitive salaries and benefits working for companies like Wal-Mart Distribution, Nissan North America in Canton, Entergy, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, International Paper, Sanderson Farms, and more.
