Co-Lin issues statement about Coronavirus

March 4, 2020

Copiah-Lincoln Community College is closely monitoring information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As the health of our students and employees is of utmost importance, officials at the college are in regular communication with the Mississippi State Department of Health to ensure we have access to the latest information and recommendations from federal, state and local authorities.

Although the Mississippi State Department of Health reports no coronavirus cases in Mississippi, it recommends that community members adhere to the following hygiene practices:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home if you're sick, and avoid close contact with those who are sick.
  • Get a flu vaccination each year to reduce your risk of illness.

Co-Lin recommends everyone monitor the Coronavirus situation by accessing the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Mississippi Department of Health.

Those websites are: https://www.msdh.ms.gov/ and https://www.cdc.gov/

We will stay in frequent communication with our public health partners.
