Co-Lin announces PRESS P.A.W.S., new Quality Enhancement Plan
July 19, 2024
Copiah-Lincoln Community College will launch a new college-wide Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) in August 2024. Press P.A.W.S, the new QEP, stands for Positively Advocating for Wolf Pack Success. Press P.A.W.S aims to increase student success by providing students with enhanced mental health support and services, empowering them through their social, physical, and emotional growth.
Recent data has unveiled deeply concerning trends regarding student well-being, shedding light on a rise in reports of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges within the student community. Recognizing these trends, Co-Lin is committed to enhancing its mental health services to provide students with the support they need to thrive physically, emotionally, and academically.
“We care deeply about our students at Co-Lin and are fully committed to making every effort to support them, both inside and outside of the classroom,” said Director of Institutional Effectiveness Dr. Tiffany Perryman. “Many of our students may lack the financial resources to see a licensed counselor when they are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other emotional struggles. We want to meet students where they are in their time of need.”
To address these concerns, Co-Lin will offer FREE mental health counseling services to all Co-Lin students through TimelyCare. TimelyCare is a virtual health care platform that includes mental and emotional support, medical, counseling, psychiatry, health coaching, peer support, self-care tools, and care navigation. TimelyCare also provides 24/7, on-demand and scheduled care that students need to be well and thrive. With this integration, Co-Lin will enhance its ability to provide students with free resources and services to support their mental health.
Students will receive detailed information about activating their TimelyCare account when the launch is official in August.
