Co-Lin Culinary Arts graduate earns Disney internship

May 25, 2022

Recent Copiah-Lincoln Community College graduate Sarah Walker of Magnolia has earned a prestigious internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Walker, a May 2022 Culinary Arts Technology graduate, will begin her internship with the Disney College Program in July 2022. The internship will last 6 months. Walker says her time at Co-Lin helped prepare her for this experience.

“Co-Lin taught me independence and how to be able to make new friends in any environment,” said Walker. “I’m not certain yet what exact job I will have at Disney, but I am hoping for a culinary experience. Overall, I know I will get to help make dreams come true for our guests.”

While completing the Disney College Program internship, Walker will continue her education online by pursuing a bachelor’s degree from the Mississippi University for Women. Co-Lin and MUW have a 2+2 agreement so that Culinary Arts graduates from Co-Lin can continue their education to earn a bachelor’s in applied science. Walker has a desire to be a mentor to other culinary arts students on the high school or college level.

“I absolutely adored the Culinary Arts program at Co-Lin and have been greatly impacted by my instructor Mrs. Abby Rials,” said Walker. “Mrs. Rials taught me how to have big dreams and know that I can reach them. I am so excited to start this new experience at Disney. It would not be possible without the support of my family, friends, and teachers.”
