Construction Equipment program sees major equipment upgrades
The Construction Equipment Operation program on Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Wesson Campus has received two brand new pieces of equipment to begin the 2021 academic year. The state-of-the-art upgrades include a CAT D3 Dozer and a CAT 320 Excavator which have already been delivered, and a CAT Motor Grader set to be delivered sometime this fall. These upgrades are a total investment of over half a million dollars.
“These needed equipment upgrades provide an opportunity for our students to train on the latest technology, better preparing them for the in-demand heavy equipment operator jobs in our area,” said Brent Duguid, Dean of Career, Technical, and Workforce Education.
The Construction Equipment Operation program is a Career Certificate program that trains students with the necessary skills to operate heavy equipment and perform tasks such as grading, sloping, backfilling, clearing, excavating, digging, and more. Students who complete the program are prepared to test for NCCER credentials.
