Practical nursing students receive flying hospital tour
Practical nursing students from Co-Lin’s Simpson County Center recently toured a ‘flying hospital’ conducted by the 183d Air Evacuation Squadron of the Mississippi Air National Guard. The students toured one of the 172 Airlift Wing’s C-17 aircraft for a partial demonstration of a medical evacuation mission. The group heard from the crew the 183 AES capabilities and aircraft logistics relative to a medical-related mission. The tour gave students a broader aspect of careers within the nursing field.
Co-Lin is the first Mississippi community college to complete this ‘flying hospital’ tour. Members of the practical nursing program participating in the tour were Gwenda Phillips, Ashley Davidson, Marissa Boykin, Madison Martin, Amber Hayes, Alex Keys, Maya Porter, Chiquita Johnson, Jennivie Bouie, Tasjia Durr, Tamia Brown, Starlett Gilmore, Megan Moore, Abigail Davis, and practical nursing instructor Hope Berry.
