For
Faculty
"Probing for Plagiarism in
the Virtual Classroom" is an interesting article that appeared in the
publication Syllabus. It includes links relating to aspects of
plagiarism within the classroom from guidelines and teaching to
downloadable applications to help detect material that has been plagiarized.
Many college professors have started their own web blogs....a
page that tracks articles and websites of interest to a particular topic.
CHE notes that for some this is a place “where
scholars tackle serious questions in a loose-limbed, vernacular mode.” A
listing of these may be found at the following two websites,
Rhetorica and
GallowGlassBlogs. Some of your instructors may find their own
subject-specific blog to follow.
For Librarians
-As most already know, but have you looked?
ERIC
(http://www.eric.ed.gov/) has received a complete new makeover. For a
good explanation as to how to use it and the changes that have taken place
go their 'database basics' page found
here. This page looks useful in presenting any kind of library
instruction about the index.
-If you are looking for innovative new ways to do library instruction take a
look at Michael Lorenzen's
LibraryInstruction.com! A long list of such sites are included in the
page's 'Links
to other Resources'.
-Information on the U.S. Patriot Act

academic research. "This resource contains full text for 3,956
scholarly publications with more than 100 going back to 1975 or further."
The other new resource is the fiction reader's advisory source Novelist.
It offers guidance in the area of fiction reading through a variety of
