404: File not Found
This means that the web page you are trying to retrieve may no longer
exist or has a new web address. Solution:
Assume you have made a mistake and retype the URL. If you continue to
get the message you can track back through the URL to the web site where
the document was located.
File Contains No Data
You have the right web site, but the file is empty. Solution:
Site may be in upgrade process so you could try again later.
Host Unavailable
Host server is down. Solution:
Try again later.
Host Unknown
You may get this for a number of reasons such as host server is
down, lost your internet connection, or you have incorrectly typed in
the URL. Solution:
Click reload, check URL, or check your internet connection.
Internet Server Error
Server Busy Error
The site you are trying to contact may be offline, busy, or
crashed. Solution:
Try again later.
Restricted...
Not Authorized...
403: Forbidden
Connection Refused by Host
Access Denied
Any one of the above messages may mean
that the database you are trying to use is a restricted database and you
are not registered with that site (by IP address) or you don't have
the password. Solution:
Contact site and register if allowed. Check with your library for
password and remember that passwords can be case sensitive so type it in
carefully and watch about keying in exact slashes, colons, etc.
Transfer Interrupted
Browser may have trouble loading a page because of graphics, for
instance. Solution:
Hit reload/refresh button and this will probably take care of it.
