Email is provided via our Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers. All students have an official email account which is created the week before classes start in the Fall term of your freshman year. You maintain this account until you graduate. While attending Copiah-Lincoln ALL official email correspondences will be sent to this account. Your account will remain active after you graduate for a short period of time The actual purge date will vary from semester to semester. If you graduate in May then your account will remain open until after the last date to make schedule changes. This year for example we will purge all innactive accounts on August 22, 2011. If you decide to not return for the Spring semester then the accounts will be purged again approximately 3 weeks after the start of the Spring semester. It is YOUR responsibility to forward email or change other services from using that account. For example, it is probably not the best idea to associate your ITunes or Facebook account with your Co-Lin email address.
The webmail address is: https://mail.colin.edu/exchange
There is also a link to the webmail provided at the bottom of the www.colin.edu home page.
If you plan to use POP3 the server address mail.colin.edu
If you use Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 there are better methods than POP3 to connect to the Exchange Server. We do support RPC over HTTP which means that we can connect an Outlook client directly to the Exchange server so you could have access to your contacts, calendar and email.
We do not allow outbound SMTP.
USE YOUR STUDENT ID to logon to webmail. For example if your StudentID is 000010345 you would actually just use the 10345 portion to logon.
The default password or PIN is your 6 digit Date of Birth. MMDDYY format
You CANNOT change your password within webmail. All passwords must be changed in the ALLIANT system. This system will sync passwords throughout the day with the email and BLACKBOARD servers.
Mobile devices and email: If you use a Windows Mobile device we generally can assist you with connecting that device to our Exchange server. If you are a Blackberry user we do not have licensing to allow for students to connect to the Blackberry Enterprise server. In general we are carrier agnostic. This method varies from Iphones to Androids but the common parts are:

You can also make decsions about syncing contacts and calendars.
