The Student Support Services (SSS) program, at Copiah-Lincoln Community College-Natchez Campus, is a comprehensive program dedicated to increasing the success rate of first generation* and low income students, and students with disabilities by providing support in an accessible and respectful environment. SSS provides personal, academic and career coaching that encourages excellence and promotes success through educational opportunities and the utilization of campus resources.
Do you meet any of these eligibility requirements?
• You are a first generation student (neither of your parents earned their bachelor’s degree by the time you (the CLCC student) turned 18 years old)
• You meet federal income guidelines
• You have a documented physical, learning, and/or mental health disability

How to apply:
• Complete an application
• Provide documentation of income eligibility (FAFSA Student Aid Report or Tax Transcript)
• Complete the interview process

Steps to Becoming an SSS Participant:
- Must be a registered Co-Lin Natchez Campus Student
- Submit SSS application
- All income documents required by SSS Program are reviewed and verified.
- Placement into at least one developmental class or exhibit other indicators of academic need.
- Applicant interview with SSS staff to review requirements and responsibilities of the SSS Program
- Complete the signing of the SSS contract and submission of the Student Need Assessment Profile (SNAP).

What is Student Support Services?

Who is eligible for services?

*Unless otherwise noted, Student Support Services events are primarily only open to Copiah-Lincoln Community College SSS students.

We offer a variety of valuable seminars/presentations to assist students in achieving academic goals, developing useful class-related skills, and ensuring continued academic progress.
Student Support Services Club
All SSS participants may participate in the SSS Club, which meets on the 1st and 3rd of each month, unless otherwise noted. The purpose of the club shall be to emphasize the attainment of leadership and social skills, as well as the creation of pathways that link education to career and life satisfaction.
SSS Grant Aid
The SSS Grant Aid Award is a financial award available to SSS participants through a generous grant from the US Department of Education.
SSS Grant Aid is intended to:
• Improve participant retention by supplementing financial assistance for low-income participants with unmet financial need.
• Improve academic success by reducing the number of hours participants need to work.
• Provide incentives for participants to make timely progress in their degree program and successfully complete their coursework.
• Demonstrate support for participants who are actively using SSS resources to facilitate their academic success.
Criteria to be eligible:
• Be enrolled full-time at CLCC-Natchez Campus;
• Demonstrate financial need;
• Demonstrate Pell Grant eligibility;
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher;
• Have completed the Wikispaces Financial Literacy online activities (as prescribed);
• Have attended regularly scheduled tutoring, and advising, sessions (as prescribed); and
• Have attended at least two SSS sponsored workshops, seminars, or recommended campus activities.
In order to receive the funding, you MUST participate in the SSS program each semester. Grant-aid will be awarded during the spring of each academic year. The SSS grant-aid is NOT an ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM. Students will be selected based on their use of SSS services. Awards will be distributed based on participation in the program. This award is not guaranteed in subsequent years; a new application and eligibility requirements must be completed each academic. Active participation is dependent upon attending SSS workshops and activities as well as meeting with SSS staff members and/or tutors.
