13 Co-Lin athletes named Academic
All-Americans
WESSON – The National Junior
College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named 13 Copiah-Lincoln Community
College athletes Academic All-Americans.
“We are extremely proud of
these student-athletes and their accomplishments on and off the field,” said
Co-Lin President Dr. Howell Garner.
Students with an accumulative
grade point average of 3.8 or better on a 4.0 scale for 45 semester hours,
completed three (3) semesters of college work, and lettered in one or more
sports recognized by the NJCAA were eligible for nomination.
A record seven Co-Lin
student-athletes receiving NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American honors
are Stephanie Presley of Crystal Springs, soccer; Annie Selman of Crystal
Springs, softball; Ronesha Garner of Jayess, basketball; Edward Joe, III of
Ridgeland, baseball; Kyle Fairley of Yazoo City, baseball; Cody Cunningham
of Brookhaven, tennis; and Matthew Delaughter of Brookhaven, football.
To receive Academic
All-American honors, students must achieve an accumulative grade point
average of 3.6 -3.79 for 45 semester hours, completed three (3) semesters of
college work, and lettered in one or more sports recognized by the NJCAA.
Named as NJCAA Academic All-Americans are
Cole Hodges of Brookhaven and Dane Orders of Mendenhall, baseball; Joshua
Peckham of Magee, Jon Goldman and Giles Langston both of Wesson, tennis; and
Brad Young of Silver Creek, soccer.
