Daniele Wilson signs Softball Scholarship with Co-Lin

Head Softball Coach Allen Kent announces the signing of Daniele Wilson of Archbishop Chapelle High School.  Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Co-Lin) is located in Wesson, MS.

“We are excited about Daniele joining us.  She is an excellent defensive shortstop with good range and a very strong arm.  She also swings the bat very well, with surprising power.  Daniele can spray the ball to all fields and has a good eye at the plate.  We feel fortunate to have her on board.  We look for her to step in and be our shortstop for the next two years.”

“Daniele had a great visit at our school and seemed to really hit it off with our girls.  Not only is she a good student, but she is a joy to be around.  She looks you in the eye, is attentive, answers ‘yes sir’ and ‘no sir’, smiles a lot and is pretty much everything a coach looks for.  Her parents have done well with her.”

“We are in a very competitive league here in Mississippi, as there are 15 community colleges in our state playing softball.  We are only allowed to have 4 out-of-state scholarships on our roster.  So we try and get the best possible players for whatever our needs are.  Daniele should jump in and provide some immediate impact for us.”

Kent, in his 6th season as Head Coach of the Lady Wolves, has amassed a record of 138-48.  His Lady Wolves have been ranked in the NJCAA Top 10 polls in each of the last 5 years.  They are annual contenders for the State and Regional Championships.  The 2006 squad won the MACJC State Tournament, the NJCAA Regional Tournament, and finished 3rd in the NJCAA National Tournament in Normal, Illinois.
