Lawrence County’s Dee Dee Walker signs with Lady Wolves

Copiah-Lincoln Community College Head Softball Coach Allen Kent announces the scholarship signing of Lawrence County High School’s Dee Dee Walker.

“We are glad to have Dee Dee join our program.  She is a gritty competitor who is very athletic.  As an infielder, she has one of the strongest arms we’ve seen in a long time.  She has sure hands and quick feet.  We look for her to contribute in the infield and possibly the outfield.”

“Dee Dee swings the bat well with extra-base potential.  She is also a base- stealing threat with aggressive instincts.  We might experiment with her some from the left side to take more advantage of her speed.”

“Coach Stringfellow runs a solid program.  She is blessed with some very good athletes.  I am also pleased that the City of Monticello Parks and Recreation Department has a summer fastpitch league where the girls can gain additional experience.  Not only has Dee Dee been playing in the summer league, she also played 18 and under travel ball with Southern Ice, learning a couple of new positions.”

“Dee Dees parents met each other at Co-Lin and are both alumni, so I know it’s special to them for her to be playing with us.”
