Katie Stewart lands scholarship with Co-Lin Softball

Copiah-Lincoln Community College Head Softball Coach Allen Kent announces the signing of Brookhaven High School Senior Katie Stewart.  “We are pleased to have Katie join us next year.  She brings experience at catcher, while being able to play some first base as well.  Katie has shortened her pop-time from home to second, keeping many base-stealing threats at bay.”

“She has really improved a lot in the last couple of years, attending various clinics and camps.  She wants to learn and absorbs everything thrown at her.  Summer ball has helped her as well, gaining additional experience.  Hopefully she will continue to gain knowledge about calling pitches and what to look for in assessing hitter’s weaknesses.”

“She has shortened her swing up and it has helped her become a better hitter.  Katie seems to be well-liked by her teammates and is fun to be around.”
