Co-Lin Signs Becca Boone Co-Lin Head Softball Coach Allen Kent announces the signing of Copiah Academy standout Becca Boone. We are very pleased to have Becca join our program. She is a proven winner, enjoying success at many levels. We look for Becca to provide immediate contributions as a freshman. She is an experienced catcher with a quick release and an accurate arm. Defensively, she is also versatile enough to play the infield or outfield. That makes her even more valuable. Boone also has quick hands and handles the bat well. Facing quality pitching in summer travel ball is a plus that has really helped her. She has benefited from years of summer ball. I appreciate her dedication, as well as her parents and coaches for the travel ball experience. Boone was the leading vote getter for the MPSA South All-Star team, meaning that her peers also recognized her abilities. Coach Bauer does a great job with the girls and I appreciate his efforts. A big part of our success in recent years has been contributions from Copiah Academy players. Last year’s Lady Wolves won the MACJC State Tournament and the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. Kent’s squad then advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament in Normal, Illinois where they finished 3rd. Co-Lin has been ranked in the top 10 in the NJCAA polls each of the last 4 years.
