Lance Newman begins his fourth year as a volunteer baseball coach for the Wolfpack. A 2000 graduate of Co-Lin, Newman was a NJCAA Academic All-American and named First Team MACJC All-State. He is second on the Wolfpack single season list in hits (92), third in doubles (17), and third in triples (4). Newman was a member of the 2000 team that came in No. 4 in the NJCAA World Series. As a catcher for the Troy State University Trojans, Newman was named Second Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference in 2002. While at Troy, he is third on the individual single-season record for singles and fourth in sacrifice hits. Newman is a graduate of William Carey College. He is currently a nurse in Jackson, MS. . |
