Course Planning and Degree Requirements

Degree requirements for the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing is a total of 73 hours. These hours are a combination of nursing hours and general education hours. See below plan of study for specific requirements.

 

NOTES:

1)      All nursing students must be full-time (12 hours) each semester while enrolled in the ADN Program.

2)      All NSG prefix courses (listed below) are nursing core courses and must be taken in sequence.

3)      Human Growth & Development is required prior to entering 3rd semester.

Prerequisite Courses: Applicant must have completed pre-requisite courses or be currently enrolled in pre-requisites courses at the time of application. All pre-requisites must be current within the last 8 years, and completed with a grade of “C” or higher.

General Education Courses: The student must complete 30 hours of general education courses with a grade of “C” or higher to meet degree requirements. General education courses can be completed prior to applying to the nursing program, or in conjunction with the nursing core courses once admitted to the nursing program. However, it is recommended that most general education courses be completed prior to application, but not required.
