  • There are 671 beds on campus in nine buildings;
  • 144 of these are reserved for honor students (freshmen with 20 composite on ACT or returning students with 3.0 GPA are eligible);
  • 21% of our beds are reserved for honor students – more than any other college in Mississippi;
  • This semester 60% of our honors dorm students are freshmen;
  • All dorms have free cable TV
  • High speed Internet access is available in each dorm room.  Students will need to furnish their own computer with any brand of 10/100 Ethernet NIC;
  • Returning students are given first priority with room reservations until June 1;
  • Freshmen are assigned rooms according to the date a room deposit was paid;
  • Each dorm has a Co-Lin employee family living in their dorm or adjacent to their dorm to assist and supervise our students.

Students should furnish their rooms with the following articles:  sheets, pillows, bedspreads, blankets, and towels.  The rooms are furnished with single width beds and mattresses, dresser, desk and chairs.

Each student is required to pay a $100 room deposit before moving into the dorm.  Room preference is determined by classification and date of room deposit.  Upon proper withdrawal, $50 of this amount will be refunded, provided the key is returned.  Students losing a dormitory key will be assessed a fee of $25 to have the key replaced and the lock repined.  All dormitories are non-smoking.

Dormitory Students
Academic Guidelines

All students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours to live in the dormitory.

Any student who is enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln must maintain a 2.0 GPA or better to be eligible for campus housing.  All dormitory students who are in non-compliance with these GPA standards at mid-term (9 weeks) will be sent a written warning of their dormitory status.  Notification of non-compliance of these regulations will be made by the Director of Student Life.

Any student in non-compliance with the GPA requirements at mid-term will be required to attend counseling and study aid programs one night a week under the direction of the Dean of Student Services.  The study aid program schedule will be posted in dormitories and classrooms in advance of such times.  If students at the end of the semester are in non-compliance, they will lose campus housing privileges.

Any person may appeal dismissal from campus housing.  Such appeal must be in writing and directed to the Director of Student Life.

Any appeal by students not meeting these requirements will be directed to the dormitory appeals committee, which consists of the Director of Student Life, the student's dormitory host or hostess, and the Dean of Student Services.  This policy was endorsed by the Student Government Association in the spring of 1993.
