Community Arts Series

Copiah-Lincoln Community Arts Series will present another exciting season in 2006-2007. The Aficionado Series is packed with exciting world-renowned performers!

This season features performances by five outstanding artists including the String Orchestra of New York City, 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Silver Medalist Joyce Yang, the Georgia Guitar Quartet, the Patrick-Harris Vocal Duo and The Acting Company's performance of Jane Eyre.

Season tickets for all five events and the post-concert receptions in the Aficionado Series are $40 for adults and $35 for senior adults. Season tickets for all five performances are $20 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the Co-Lin Business Office.

Single performance tickets for the String Orchestra of New York City and The Acting Company are $20 for Adults, $16 for Senior Adults, and $12 for Students. Single performance tickets for Joyce Yang, the Georgia Guitar Quartet and the Patrick-Harris Vocal Duo are $16 for Adults, $14 for Senior Adults and $10 for Students.

Highlighting the popular Showcase Series this season are performances by the Baroque ensemble Promenade, pianist Joseph La Rosa, and art exhibits by Christian artist Gary Walters and Brookhaven artist Bill Mitchell. All Showcase Series events are free.

Aficionado Series

String Orchestra of New York City September 12, 2006, 7:30 p.m.

Rea Auditorium

A conductorless chamber ensemble, the String Orchestra of New York City is one of the leading young ensembles in America. SONYC is composed of young, dedicated and talented chamber musicians and soloists.


Joyce Yang

October 24, 2006, 7:30 p.m. Rea Auditorium

At the age of 19, Korean pianist Joyce Yang won the silver medal at the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in June 2005 as the competition's youngest entrant. At the competition, Ms. Yang was also awarded Best Chamber Music Performance and Best Performance of a New Work.


Georgia Guitar Quartet

January 30, 2007, 7:30 p.m. Rea Auditorium

The Georgia Guitar Quartet delivers a high-energy blend of breathtaking virtuosity and imaginative programming while taking an adventurous approach to classical music.


Patrick-Harris, Vocal Duo February 13, 2007, 7:30 p.m.

Rea Auditorium

This Valentine's Day recital will include vocal favorites with an amorous theme from opera, art song and Broadway repertoire. Tenor Joseph Harris and his wife, mezzo-soprano Terry Patrick-Harris will be accompanied by pianist Constance Carroll.


The Acting Company's Jane Eyre March 20, 2007, 7:30 p.m.

Rea Auditorium

The Acting Company presents Polly Teale's groundbreaking adaptation of Jane Eyre. Recognized as a masterpiece when it was published in 1847, Charlotte Bronte's extraordinary coming-of-age story remains a startlingly modern blend of passion, romance and suspense.
