Financial Aid Grants

LEAP is a federal grant with funds matched from the state.  These funds are awarded to Mississippi residents who are enrolled as full-time students.  Students that are taking 12 or more hours are considered to be full-time students.  Eligibility is determined using a standard formula to evaluate the information the student provides on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Recipients must demonstrate substantial need. This financial need may include, but is not limited to, the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the difference between a student's cost of education and the available resources to meet that cost.  This money does not have to be paid back, as long as you remain enrolled 60% of that semester.  The award can be between $200 and $2000 an award year depending on the funding levels at the institution.  However, awards between $200 and $1000 are more realistic at Copiah-Lincoln.
