The Financial Aid Office at Copiah-Lincoln administers a variety
of programs designed to assist students and their families in meeting the cost
to attend Copiah-Lincoln. Financial aid is divided into four major categories:
scholarships, grants, part-time employment, and loans.
Scholarships are gift programs that do not have to be repaid.
Scholarships are typically awarded for academic achievement, athletics, and
participation in certain activities.
Grants are gift aid that do not have to be repaid. Grants
usually require a demonstration of financial need. Some grants require academic
promise as well as financial need.
Part-time employment on campus provides opportunities for
students to earn money to apply toward their educational expenses.
Loans are funds that have to be repaid with interest.
The availability of funds is a very important factor relative to
the total number of students who receive financial aid. Students must be
accepted for admission and currently enrolled in order to receive financial aid.
Financial aid is awarded in various amounts for one academic term at a time.
Most financial aid is not automatically renewable. All recipients of financial
aid must reapply annually.
