Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

An eligible student may receive an Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) of $750 for their freshman year and $1300 for their sophomore year. To be eligible for each year, a  student must:

• Be a Federal pell grant recipient

• Be enrolled in at least 6 hours

• Be enrolled in a certificate program of at least one year OR in a 2-year

degree-seeking program at a 2-year or 4-year degree-granting institution

• Be enrolled in the first or second academic year of his/her program

(cannot have been previously enrolled in an undergraduate program or

obtained degree in another program of study)

• High school graduate after January 1, 2005

• Completed a rigorous program of study as determined by the State of

Mississippi

In addition to the above requirement, freshmen must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the Spring semester to be eligible to receive ACG for their sophomore year.


Students wishing to be considered for ACG funds should submit a copy of their final high school transcript to their campus Financial Aid representative.
