Financial Aid Timeline

As you view this timeline, you will be informed of the general time of the deadline in which steps the application process are due. For more specific dates please contact us.

January:
Spring term begins
January 1: Application for new Aid Year becomes available online at http://riseupms.com/state-aid/
Endowed/Leadership Scholarship Application is available

February:
First disbursement of student loan funds for the semester is approximately the second Thursday
 
March:
March 1 is the deadline for submitting Endowed/Leadership Scholarship application
Deadline for submitting Federal Direct Loan request is 1st Friday of the month
Refunds of financial aid credit balances are available approximately the 2nd Thursday of the month
Begin processing FAFSA applications for upcoming school year
 
April:
Financial aid award notifications begin
 
May:
Summer school awarding begins
Satisfactory academic progress will be checked after spring grades are posted
Summer term begins approximately 3rd week of the month
 
June:
Summer school loan disbursements begin 3rd Thursday of the month
Last date to submit FAFSA for current school year is June 30
 
July:
Refunds of financial aid credit balances will be 3rd Thursday of the month
Satisfactory academic progress will be checked after summer grades are posted
 
August:
Students can check accounts for all financial aid awards and student charges after 1st week of the month. If you have not been fully awarded, stay in touch with Financial Aid Office to complete your award process.
Fall term begins
 
September:
Last date to submit online state application for the year is September 15
First disbursement of student loan funds for the semester is approximately the 3rd Thursday of the month
 
October:
Deadline for submitting Federal Direct Loan request is 1st Friday of the month
Refunds for financial aid credit balances is expected the 3rd Thursday of the month
FAFSA application for the NEXT award year will be available online at https://fafsa.ed.gov
 
November:
New students for the spring term will need to have financial aid processes completed
 
December:
Satisfactory academic progress will be checked after fall grades are posted
