Online Orientation
In order to insure your success as an online student, you must complete the online orientation below.  You are to view the short PowerPoint tutorials and take the practice quizzes that follow each tutorial. After you have reviewed all the tutorials, you must take the Orientation Test and score at least a 70%.  You may retake the test if you do not receive that score initially.

 If you feel that you do not possess adequate technical skills, contact Laura Lofton to discuss your computer deficiencies. It is our goal for you to be successful in your online endeavor.

By completing the short tutorials below and taking the practice quizzes that follow you will be able to evaluate your understanding of Blackboard--the delivery software used for all online classes at Co-Lin and the Mississippi Virtual Community College.

E-Mailing with Outlook Tutorial

Since you have finished viewing and studying the Blackboard Orientation, complete the Outlook Orientation below. The topics discussed include creating an e-mail, attaching files, and opening  attachments.

Orientation Test
Now that you have finished viewing and studying the Orientation for Blackboard and Outlook, take the Online Orientation Test.  Your scores will be e-mailed to Co-Lin automatically.  You must score at least a 70% to proceed with your online course. 

 To Take Your Orientation Test,
Click the Name of the Campus You Wish To Receive Your Scores.

If you did not score at least a 70%, you may retake the test, but do not do so until you have restudied the orientation presentations provided for you. If you feel you need additional assistance, training, or counseling, please contact Margaret Britt, Distance Learning Coordinator.
