The Workforce Development Center Training Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, promoting, and teaching computer technology classes, leadership/supervisory skills workshops, and interpersonal skills training classes for business and industry in the college district. The Workforce Development Center Training Specialist offers various workshops and seminars to local businesses and industries. Participants assist in setting the pace for the workshop and the content to be covered. These workshops and seminars are designed to help businesses in the district function more effectively and efficiently in today’s competitive markets. Four or five workshops are offered each semester. Past workshop topics have included Business Communications, Desktop Publishing with Microsoft Word, Creating Spreadsheets with Microsoft Word, Business Letter and Memo Writing, and Internet Fundamentals. The Workforce Development Center Training Specialist also accompanies the Workforce Development Coordinators into businesses and industries to assess their training needs. |
