The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Small Business Development Center is a member of the
Mississippi Small Business Development Center Assistance Network Program consisting of 21
centers located throughout Mississippi. The Objective of the Co-Lin SBDC Program is to
provide up-to-date counseling, training and research assistance in all aspects of small
business management. Whether you are an established business owner or a beginning
entrepreneur, the Co-Lin SBDC can help you gain an advantage in building your business.
The Co-Lin SBDC maintains a resource library that contains Small Business start-up
manuals, financial ratios, statistical information, census figures, and a variety of other
information including videotapes. The SBDC also has a new workstation that is available
for interested clients to use. One-on-one counseling services are available for
individuals interested in starting a small business, and expanding or purchasing an
existing business. The Co-Lin SBDC also will advise small business people on the
requirements for and methods of obtaining SBA Loans, Bank Loans, and loans from other
lending institutions.
The management and technical assistance services of the SBDC staff are provided at no
charge. A fee may be charged to recover direct costs for items such as printing, postage,
computer time, or workshop and seminar presenters and materials. The full disclosure of
financial and/or other proprietary information to the SBDC by the client is usually
essential for counselors to provide effective assistance. All information received and
developed in the course of counseling by the SBDC staff will be kept in strict
confidence.
