Emergency Medical Technology - Paramedic

The Emergency Medical Technology program is designed for students who are planning to complete the professional, technical, and clinical component of the paramedic program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  Entrance into the Emergency Medical Technology Basic program requires a high school diploma or equivalency, passing of a physical examination, and the applicant must have an ACT with a minimum score of 16 on file with the registrar.  If accepted, all applicants must participate in drug and alcohol testing and a criminal history background check.   Entrance into the Emergency Medical Paramedic program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center requires the completion and passing of EMT 1116 EMT-Basic and the National Registry EMT-Basic (NREMT), BIO 2513 Anatomy and Physiology I prior to enrolling.  An Associate in Applied Science degree will be awarded to individuals who complete all course work at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and University Medical Center.
