Seven Natchez residents recently completed 54 hours of computer training sponsored by Copiah-Lincoln Community College Workforce Education. The computer basic skills classes began in the spring and were designed to assist the unemployed or underemployed in obtaining computer skills. This ongoing semester long process is broken down into three six-week sessions that present computer skills at weekly meetings at Co-Lin's Natchez Campus.
At the last class meeting, held on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, students received a certificate of completion. Topics covered included but were not limited to word processing in Microsoft Word 2010, number management in Excel 2010, creating presentations in PowerPoint 2010, and e-mail, calendars, and contacts in Outlook 2010.
New classes will began on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 (concluding on Dec. 3, 2012) and again in January 2013 at the Co-Lin's Natchez Campus. Funding for these classes is provided by the Mississippi Community College Board.
