If the child is running a fever the teacher will contact the parent and if the correct forms
have been filled out the teacher will give the child Tylenol. If after an hour of receiving
the medication the child is still running a fever we will again contact the parent and the
child will need to be picked up.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE – Children will be brought to and picked up from the front of the
Child Development Center by parents or those designated by parents. The school is NOT
responsible for bringing children to or returning children home from the Child Development
center. We request for students to pick your child up on FRIDAY as soon after 2:15 p.m.
as possible. This gives teachers time to prepare for next weeks activities.
DAILY DISMISSAL – Your child will NOT be allowed to leave the center at any time with
anyone other than the person or persons designated on the application, unless we have
a signed note from the parent to this effect. These forms will be in your child’s
daily folders. This is for your child’s protection. Parents, please be sure the
child’s teacher is aware of the fact that you have come to pick the child up for the
day. NEVER take the child from the department without notifying the teacher.
(EX. teacher may be in restroom assisting a child when you arrive.)
CONFERENCES – Conferences will be planned twice a year for you by the child’s
teacher and you will be notified when to come. The first conference is a group
meeting with parents and teacher (Parent Orientation) and the last conference is
an individual conference held at the end of the school year. However, at any
time during the year a conference can be called by you or the teacher if necessary.
VISITING THE CENTER – Parents are allowed to observe the children at any time.
However, DO NOT expect to chat with the teacher when she is responsible for the
child or in class with children or students. No prior notice is needed to come and
observe your child.
CONFIDENTIALITY – The staff will not violate the confidential nature of children and
records. Information pertaining to admission, progress, health, or discharge of a
child shall be confidential and limited to the faculty, staff, director, and the
licensing agency unless the parent(s) of the child has granted written permission
for disclosure of dissemination.
BRINGING THINGS FROM HOME – The children are NOT to bring food or toys to the center,
unless they are requested to do so for sharing time. NEVER SEND GUM!!
If the child has a pet or something special to share with the class, the parent should
first contact the teacher.
BIRTHDAYS – Cupcakes or cake may be brought on your child’s birthday. Favors may be
given to the children. NO presents, please. Please contact the teacher several days
ahead of time.
